My Experience On Productivity

Pomodoro techinique + Pareto Priciple:

25 minutes, and then only a 5 minute break? 25 minutes seems too long...In my experience, I seem to be more productive at 20 minutes. So why does it have to be 25 minutes? It doesn't. Do what works for you. For example, if you're hungry and trying to decide whether to get Dunkin Donuts, which dunkin are you going to go to? The one that's a 25 minute walk away, or a 20 minute walk away? I'd go with the one thats 20 minute walk away, and maybe if they don't have what I need I'll go to the 25 minute walk away. Why go the extra mile if you don't have to? If you're like me and get bored easily, then why not give a shorter time a shot? Breaking it down by hour, thats 40 productive minutes an hour, and 20 minutes to check if your favorite instagramer uploaded what they're having for lunch. Sounds great to me.  I apply this to learning new things, work, exercise, even practicing new combos for video games. The great thing about a longer break? You can CHOOSE to go back to working or learning instead of feeling FORCED to go back to the task at hand.

As the Pareto Principle states, 80% of the work, is completed by 20 % of the effort. I apply that through the week. 20% Monday + 20% Tuesday + 20% Wednesday + 20% Thursday + 20% Friday = 100% by the end of the week. If my goal is to run 10 miles, then doing 2 miles per day to total 10 miles is doable.
